Mini-Vacation to Branson

Graham and I recently had the opportunity to get away for a night and take a little trip to Branson! His parents were kind enough to watch Evie for us, so we didn't have to worry about her. I had been dying to get back on a roller coaster, so we were glad for this chance to hit up Branson and Silver Dollar City.

Graham and I dropped Evie off with his parents on a Friday afternoon and then we headed up to Branson. After checking into our hotel, we went shopping! Our hotel was right behind the Tanger Outlets, so we couldn't pass it up. Then we went to dinner at Cantina Laredo and it was fantastic! After dinner we went back to the hotel and hit up the pool and hot tub for a bit before bed.

Our hotel had a hot breakfast buffet so we did breakfast at the hotel, packed up and checked out, then went to Silver Dollar City. We got there just as it was opening, which was perfect. It was the first day of the season, but since it was chilly there weren't very many people there at first. We were able to ride the roller coaster, Outlaw Run, 3 times back to back essentially, then do the Giant Barn Swing and another roller coaster, Wild Fire. All with NO WAIT. We did Wild Fire another time and had to wait maybe 10 minutes. By this time it was around 11? We were definitely able to get in our fix of roller coasters!

Next we walked around for a little bit and explored the "city." We took the train ride and then watched the glass blowers. I didn't take any pictures of that, but I could seriously sit all day and watch them, if not for my love of riding roller coasters. We had lunch (I got a shish-kebab and Graham got a turkey leg) and then were back on the rides! We rode another few roller coasters and did the Giant Barn Swing again. Then, towards the end of the day, we got a funnel cake and ate it as we watched the blacksmith.

We drove home, picked up Evie, and then basically crashed. Going non-stop all day really tired us out. We really enjoyed our time together and that Graham's parents were able to watch Evie for us.
